Will the NASCAR Racing Schedule Be Impacted By Record-High Fuel Prices? |

If you're a fan of NASCAR and avidly follow the NASCAR racing schedule, have you considered the impact that high fuel prices might have on your favorite sport? If gas prices stay as high as they are now, is the NASCAR racing schedule in danger of going extinct? With all of the turmoil in the Middle East, plus natural disasters and terrorism around the world, our supplies of oil and gasoline are far from secure and that will have the effect of sending prices sky high for the next couple of decades. If there is going to be a NASCAR racing schedule in the future, and I certainly hope that there will be, will the cars competing in the NASCAR racing schedule be running on gasoline, ethanol, methane, liquid hydrogen, compressed natural gas, or some other fuel source that hasn't been invented yet? Whatever fuel comes next is bound to change the NASCAR racing schedule at least a little. Honestly, I can't help thinking that the NASCAR racing schedule may be shortened or compressed because of a lack of fuel or the expense of fielding so many cars at once. |
