Auto racing the newest driver pairing in Rolex Grand-Am Sports Car Series competition, drivers Burt Frisselle and Gabriele Gardel, will not only be sporting the latest Daytona Prototype chassis and motor combination with the Dallara-Ford package, but will also be supported by the newest partnership of sponsors in the Rolex Series paddock, as the American-Swiss driver duo have gained the backing of BSI Bank, Anasten Plus, and CDOC.
In addition, Performance Drink, which is also a Rolex Grand-Am Sports Car Series contingency sponsor, will further support the effort of the two young racers as they strive to get the strongest performance possible from both themselves and the car.
Frisselle and Gardel are expected to make their DP race debut with the No. 47 Dallara-Ford combination as campaigned by Doran Racing in the Grand-Am Rolex Series event at the Autodromo H. Rodriguez in Mexico City, Mexico.
Gardel, who will look to raise his profile Stateside to the high level he has already accomplished with the championships the Italian-speaking Swiss racer earned in Europe, is pleased to once again partner with BSI and Amasten Plus as the 2005 FIA GT and 2006 LeMans Series GT1 Champion embarks on his rookie year in Rolex competition.
The No. 47 will be prepared by Doran Racing, which has a long history in the sport as a highly successful team entry. In addition, the Doran organization was responsible for designing, building, and supporting the Doran JE4, which won the inaugural Daytona Prototype Team and Driver Championships in 2003 and scored a victory in the 2004 Rolex 24 At Daytona on the way to establishing a significant competitive presence in the category.
The 2008 Rolex season will see Doran not only utilize the Dallara chassis, but the Ohio-based organization will also serve as the official parts support provider for Dallara in addition to assisting Dallara with fabrication in some areas of the car.
Famed horsepower experts Roush/Yates prepare the Ford Racing motors for Doran Racing.
Testing is slated for multiple tracks and multiple dates in advance of the Rolex Series round three in Mexico City on April 19th.
