Auto Racing: Grand-Am New Cars Set To Debut At Homestead |

Auto racing Grand-Am racing the familiar blue No. 10 SunTrust DP Pontiac Riley will be replaced by a bright orange DP Dallara in Saturday's Gainsco Grand Prix of Miami, Round 2 of the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16.
Max Angelelli and new co-driver Michael Valiante will drive Wayne Taylor Racing's new car in the 109-lap event at Homestead-Miami, that takes the green flag at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Practice for the Rolex Series begins at 2 p.m. Friday, with additional practice and 3 p.m. qualifying Friday. The weekend also includes the 2008 unified IndyCar Series opener and a Firestone Indy Lights race.
Taylor Racing has one of two new DP Dallaras, with Kevin Doran Racing fielding the No. 77 Kodak Ford for Memo Gidley and Brad Jaeger.
Lola will make its DP competition debut in the series with a pair of Tracy Krohn Racing Pontiac DP Lolas. While Krohn is hopeful to co-drive the No. 75 entry with Eric van do Peole, Roberto Moreno is on stand by for the team. Ricardo Zonta and Nic Jonsson pilot the No. 76 car.
Also set to debut is the No. 55 Ferrari 430 Challenge in the GT class for Scott Tucker and Ed Zabinski. Andy Wallace will help the team in testing with the new Crawford-built car. |
