Half the Nascar racing schedule is over for race to the chase. |

| The Nascar racing schedule has a total of thirty six racing events with the last twelve races on the Nascar racing schedule selected as the racing events that decide who this year's champion will be. This leaves twenty four races for the drivers to win enough points to be included in the top twelve who qualify to drive the final twelve races on the Nascar racing schedule for the title of Nascar Champion for this season. Half of the twenty four races are now complete and several drivers are still fighting to make it into the top twelve. If you finish out of the top twelve going into the last 12 races, you do not have the opportunity to win the title even if you win all final twelve racing events. Is this fair? I do not think so, but for the Nascar drivers who do make it into the final 12 top positions they theoretically have the chance to become the 2008 champion. Nascar officials made this change recently because they feel it makes the drivers compete and provides better racing for the fans. Maybe so, but I believe this new points system needs a few changes before it is fair to all the drivers on the Nascar racing schedule. |
