Auto racing F1 Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais topped the times on the second day of testing at Barcelona on Saturday, as the team's updated 2007 car bested all the 2008 machines of on hand.

F1 Toro Rosso is not expected to have its definitive 2008 car until the start of the European F1 season, but the both team drivers outpaced Lewis Hamilton's F1 McLaren on Saturday, despite both drivers suffering mechanical failures that caused them to stop on track and bring out red flags.

Hamilton, who had been quickest overall on the first day of the test, ended the day 0.4sec behind Vettel's best, and had a similar margin of advantage over new teammate Heikki Kovalainen.

Robert Kubica continued to show BMW F1 Sauber's progress with the fifth-quickest time, although he suffered a mechanical problem at 10:00 am that left his car stranded on the track.
